Optimised Energy is looking for a Wind Turbine Inspection Engineer to join our full service, energy consulting business. They will be responsible for carrying out a range of wind turbine inspection services from visual to blade and gearbox inspections and providing a range of specialist services to the on and offshore wind industry.

 

Principle Accountabilities

  • Execution of all WTG inspection activities, ensuring required standard of service is achieved and maintained whilst ensuring efficient completion.

  • Performing onshore and offshore wind turbine inspections.

  • Performing gearbox & bearing endoscopic inspections.

  • Preparation of inspection reports as required.

  • Continually developing and improving the reporting processes.

  • Keeping up to date on all technical matters relating to all existing and latest turbine technologies.

  • Auditing wind turbine and related component manufacturing QA systems, including factory visits during manufacturing and on-site inspections.

  • Carry out wind farm and Balance of Plant inspections and produce reports.

  • Understand the technical and commercial interactions to identify potential risks and develop/propose mitigations.

 

Person Specification

Education, Qualifications, Training

HNC/HND in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and/or apprenticeship and relevant experience.

Degree qualified in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

Specialist Knowledge Skills and Competencies

Demonstrate extensive engineering experience within Mechanical/Electrical or Hydraulics.

Expert knowledge of WTG blades, gearboxes/drivetrains.

Previous Experience

Demonstrate previous project engineering experience

Specific experience of conducting EoW, Due Diligence and ageing asset inspections on WTGs.

 

Quality

Ability to maintain high level of quality whilst working under pressure.

Excellent time and organisational skills, with an ability to think proactively and prioritise work.

Expected to respond positively to short notice projects, which could be overseas, or at weekends.
